A mixture of free open air entertainment, concerts, music sessions, classic boats, pub sessions and singarounds during the festival weekend. Events take place throughout the old town of Harwich at venues including the Ha'penny Pier, Harwich Town Sailing Club, The Redoubt Fort, The New Bell Inn, The Alma, Samuel Pepys Wine Bar, The Harwich and Dovercourt Sailing Club, The Globe and on board the Tug Boat "Fenland" and RAF launch "1380".  Music and song sessions take place at the New Bell throughout the weekend and also at certain times in the Alma and the Harwich Town Sailing Club. The Foot Ferry service to Shotley operates over the weekend, with extra entertainment at the Shipwreck Inn in Shotley. New for this year: Traditional Maritime Crafts plus Napoleonic displays, at the Redoubt Fort both Saturday and Sunday. Also new for 2010: workshops will be held over the weekend with the aim of establishing a brand new "Harwich Shanty Crew" as a legacy of the 2010 festival. Anyone who is interested in attending the workshops and becoming part of the new crew should contact the organisers or just turn up at the 1912 club on Saturday 9th.
