Marathon Shanty Sing - 26 hours 385 songs!

To coincide with the London Olympics, Harwich Shanty Festival will be holding their own Olympic Event at the Alma in Kings Head Street, Harwich. Commencing at 12.00 noon Saturday 19th May and concluding 2.00p.m. Sunday 20th May we will be holding a Shanty Marathon, singing continuously for 26 hours. This is obviously a collective effort and participants and spectators/audience can stay for as long or as short a time as they wish. This event ties in with Tendring District Council's "Sparks Will Fly" celebration of the Olympic year and on Sunday 20th May will join with the entertainment planned at start of the the Tour de Tendring course.
