Harwich Redoubt Fort

This impressive circular fort was built between 1808-1811 as part of the Napoleonic defences around our coastline and compliments Landguard Fort on the opposite side of the river at Felixstowe. It is cared for by the Harwich Society to whom we are grateful to be allowed to use it for the Shanty Weekend. ( www.harwich-society.co.uk )

A hugely popular addition to the Festival, there will be Maritime and Napoleonic displays at the Fort, as well as Shanty singing.
